K-12 Special Education Coordinator

We are looking for an experienced and student-focused Special Education Coordinator to support and strengthen special education programs across our Tucson campuses.
This is a meaningful leadership role for someone who is passionate about compliance, student outcomes, and coaching the educators who serve students with disabilities every day.
Your Role Will Include
- Monitoring IEPs, MET documentation, evaluations, and student records for accuracy and compliance with IDEA and Arizona timelines.
- Coordinating and facilitating initial and reevaluation MET and IEP meetings, ensuring required team members and service providers are involved.
- Supporting campus teams with Child Find, eligibility, placement, evaluation, and service requirements.
- Coaching and providing ongoing support to special education teachers and case managers on procedures, documentation, and best practices.
- Supporting administrators with IDEA discipline requirements, Manifestation Determination Reviews, FBAs, BIPs, and positive behavioral supports.
- Coordinating student transitions across grade levels, campuses, and into post-secondary life for students age 16 and older.
- Serving as a responsive and knowledgeable resource for families regarding special education services.
- Partnering with campus principals, school psychologists, SLPs, and related service providers to strengthen programs across both campuses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, School Psychology, Education, or a related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Valid Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate or appropriate Arizona administrative or supervisory certification.
- At least 2 years of experience in special education teaching, case management, or a related role.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Arizona special education requirements, Child Find, and IEP processes.
- Experience coordinating across multiple campuses is preferred.
- Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Salary and Benefits
- Pay: $65,000 to $75,000 per year.

Location & Shift Times
- Based in Tucson, AZ. Serving Sonoran Science Academy Tucson East and Sonoran Science Academy Tucson.
- In-person. Monday through Friday, Full Time.
